"He's got the whole world, in His hands ..."
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”(John 3:16-17)
I am a true globalist, hoping for, and expecting, a new world order. God is too. His plan is sure. It is from everlasting to everlasting. He is faithful to all generations according to His word. His plan has always included the whole world, His entire creation. We have record of a couple of historically momentous occasions regarding a messed-up world. There is also a record of His resetting it according to His plan.
I am thinking of a flood, when waters covered the whole Earth. I am also thinking about His destruction of two cities. It seems both of those things happened because of situations in the Earth which had gotten out of control, and, from God’s perspective, needed to be corrected, His way.
In one situation, rain came out of the heavens. The other situation was set aright by fire from out of the heavens. Both situations were corrected from Heaven. As is often said, history repeats itself, and, knowing this, I am expecting a re-set, a New World Order, God-style, from Heaven.
He still has the whole world in His hands!
Together we are experiencing numerous examples of “new normals.” Perhaps these new normals are a way of preparing us for God’s New World Order. Consider the following scriptures …
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”(Romans 12:2)
“And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.”(Revelation 21:5)
Our safety in this world and eternity to follow is found in this, that: “He chose us to belong to Him before the foundation of the world.” Our method of preparation is to “put on the whole armor of God.” And keep “looking up, for our redemption draweth nigh!”
