“Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.”
(Matthew 10:26)
You may not do what you are doing, where you are doing it, forever. However, what you are doing, where you are doing it, is forever.
“But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the Lord: and be sure your sin will find you out.”
(Numbers 32:23)
Think not of this as a negative thing. It is such a short phrase, part of a story, an admonishment, in all, almost an afterthought. But think how wonderful the news of it: be sure your sin will be found out. That is mercy. When we become aware, so to speak, found out, we then have an opportunity to face it, confess it, repent of it, and be freely forgiven.
Oh the joy of love divine!
