“When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.”
(1 Corinthians 13:11)

Well, you know what this is about! You knew it was coming. You watched it come to others and you have felt it yourself -a little stiffness when you get out of bed or the car, after riding a few hours, tummy upset after eating a great meal which didn’t taste as good as you remembered, and you don’t feel inclined to just go out and run a mile or two or play a game of croquet, tag or badminton. Well, when we were children, we acted like children, but we are grown (“groan?”) up now and we have put away childish things? Perhaps we have chosen more “adult,” less taxing activities to take their place. The body is tired, so we have a reason and time to sit more -often times in a comfy recliner, with a remote in one hand and a comforting snack or drink in the other. If we had a third hand, maybe we’d pick up the Bible on our way to the chair and later fall asleep with it in our lap.
May I suggest? Before the sun goes down …

And never cease to pray.
“This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
